Billboard Fridays: J. Cole feat. Amber Coffman & The Cults - She Knows

 Pitbull continua liderando com Timber mas o destaque da semana vai pro J. Cole. Ate pouco tempo atrás ele era só conhecido como o mais novo pupilo do Jay-Z, mas após o seu album vender melhor no primeiro mês que o ultimo album do Kanye, lançado na mesma semana, dá pra se dizer que ele já está em outro patamar (apesar de não tão alto quanto o Kanye obviamente). Enfim, o Born Sinner é um bom album e o terceiro single que o J. Cole tá lançando do album é o som acima, She Knows. Nele ele tem a ajuda de dois queridinhos da cena indie americana, a banda The Cults e a Amber Coffman, vocalista do grupo Dirty Projectors. Apesar disso a música é total a cara do J. Cole, até porque foi ele que produziu com uma ajuda do Elite e do Ron Gilmore. O legal das participações dessa música é o tom meio etéreo que eles dão à musica e que combinam super bem com o rap pós-Drake/40. Enfim, é uma musica bem legal e apesar de nao ter video vocês podem ouvi-la acima. Abaixo segue o top 25 da semana.
Update: Saiu o videozinho e dá pra ver que o J. Cole tá se inspirando pros videos desse ultimo album dele. Esse especificamente mostra o dia a dia de um moleque que mata a aula, anda de skate, invade uma casa pra fumar uma maconha e tomar cerveja escondido e tal. Enfim, tudo bem filmado e divertido até que lá pelas tantas ele volta mais cedo pra casa e vê a mãe dele com o J. Cole (detalhe que ela é casada e mora com o pai). Nisso ele sai correndo, é buscado pelo pai e por fim rola um jantar. Obviamente o clima é bem tenso e acaba por aí mas é um video bem interessante, vale a pena!

Pitbull is still leading Billboard's Rap Charts with Timber but this week's highlight is J. Cole. Not a long while ago he was known mostly as Jay-Z next pupil, but last year he outsold Kanye West on their first month, when he released Born Sinner and Ye released Yeezus. After that we can say he got on a new level (though not as high as Kanye, obviously). This is the third single Jermaine is pushing out of the album and it got features by two darlings of the american indie music scene. The first is the band The Cults and the second is Amber Coffman, lead singer of Dirty Projectors. The music's got J. Cole's trademarks all over it, after all he was the one that produced it along with Elite and Ron Gilmore. What's cool about the features though is the way they give an ethereal feeling to the song, which is very trendy in the post-Drake/40 era. It's a pretty cool song and even though it ain't got a video, you can check it above along with this week's top 25.
