Billboard Fridays: Macklemore feat. Skylar Grey - Glorious

 É galera, Cardi B continua firme e forte na liderança das paradas gerais e de rap mas o destaque da semana vai pro Macklemore. Glorious é o primeiro single do album novo dele, o Gemini, e ele tem uma vibe bem animadinha que a gente conhece do cara. Esse som particularmente soa muito como um Can't Hold Us um pouco piorado por ter a Skylar Grey ao invés do Ray Dalton no refrão. Produzido pelo Joshua Karp, esse é daqueles som que não fede nem cheira, não é foda pra caralho mas também não chega a ser algo insuportável de ouvir. O clipe no entanto é uma bosta. Ele finge que tá curtindo o aniversário de 100 anos da avó dele, comprando Yeezys pra ela, contratando um stripper, entre outras coisas, mas tudo parece muito forçado. Eu não curti mas vocês podem ver a parada clicando acima.

Billboard Fridays: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Eric Nally, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee & Grandmaster Caz - Downtown

O Silento continua na liderança das paradas de rap dos States mas o destaque da semana vai pro Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Infelizmente eles voltaram com uma musica pior do que a que eles faziam isso. Na sua tentativa de conseguir credibilidade no rap ele chamou umas lendas do rap (que sinceramente são irrelevantes na atualidade) como "features" do som dele, quando na real eles se quer tem versos, só fazem coro pro Macklemore em algumas partes. A letra é ridicula, falando alguma coisa sobre lambretas e tal, mas totalmente vazia. A sonoridade e o video são uma mistura ruim entre Uptown Funk, do Mark Ronson, e aquele lado que tenta ser mais épico da própria dupla. Sinceramente eu achei um desastre. A produção fica por conta do Ryan Lewis e vocês podem ver o clipe acima.

Silento is still on the lead of Billboard's Hot Rap Charts but this week's highlight goes to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Unfortunatelly they got here with a song worst than what they usually do. Since they got 0 credibility on the rap front they got together with some rap legends (that nowadays have no presence on the media whatsoever) to have "features" on the song, even though neither of them got even a single verse, doing nothing more than backing vocal which is a shame. The lyrics are awful, talking mostly about mopeds and nothing relevant or smart at all. The sonority of the song and the video are like a bad mix of Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk and the fake epic stuff Macklemore used to do. I think it's a disaster, but you can check the Ryan Lewis produced song above.

Billboard Fridays: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. ScHoolboy Q & Hollis - White Walls

Parece que o Eminem finalmente vai sentar quieto no primeiro lugar com The Monster seguindo a sua terceira semana no topo da parada de rap da Billboard. O destaque da semana no entanto vai pro Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. A dupla emplaca o quarto hit do seu album independente The Heist com White Walls. Essa é uma musica mais divertida, como Thrift Shop, com um clima mais de party e tal. A produção do Ryan Lewis não é nada mal e apesar de o tema ser meio vazio até que a musica é de boa. É claro que o destaque vai pro Schoolboy Q, rapper companheiro de TDE do Kendrick Lamar que rima muito e mostra como é que se faz pro Macklemore. O video é bem bizarrinho, com vários rappers famosos (como o Big Boi, Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky e outros) assim como um monte de desconhecidos dando rolê com os seus respectivos Cadillacs (todos que você pode imaginar). Aew no final uma raça estranha pra caralho, incluindo uma raça da terceira idade, se junta pra uma festa e é isso aí, clipezinho bem pós-Odd Future mas que até que é de boa também. It seems like Eminem will seat quiet on the first place of Billboard's Rap Chart with The Monster, after staying there for three weeks. This week's highlight goes to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis though. The duo get their fourth hit from the independently released The Heist album. This is a more funny joint, kinda like Thrift Shop, with a partying vibe to it. The production by Ryan Lewis ain't bad at all and even though it's theme is pretty empty, the song is nice. The guy that hits the homerun on this song though is Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar's TDE partner that shows Macklemore how a real rapper would approach this beat, totally slaying him. The video for the song is kinda bizarre too, with a lot of famous rappers (like Big Boi, Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky and others) along with a bunch of unknowns, each pushing their respective Cadillac's (all the models you can imagine). By the end of the song a lot of strange people get together on a party, full of elderly ladies in a pretty post-Odd Future move. If you wanna check the video and this week's top 25, click above.

Billboard Fridays: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Mary Lambert - Same Love

Macklemore e Ryan Lewis no primeiro lugar, no segundo lugar e dessa vez também no destaque da semana.  Same Love é mais um dos singles do album The Heist que o Macklemore fez e foi todo produzido pelo Ryan Lewis. Os dois singles mais bem sucedidos desse album são bem animadinhos, essa já é muito mais calma e como diz o título fala de amor. No entanto ele não está falando de qualquer amor, mas sim de um bem específico, o homossexual. Basicamente, assim como todas as musicas do Macklemore, ela tem uma mensagenzinha boa para o mundo e a dessa música é a que devemos parar de discriminar os homossexuais e tratá-los como se eles não fossem como qualquer outra pessoa. O objetivo é louvável, mas eu particularmente acho essa musica beeem chatinha. Felizmente o video (como nas outras musicas da dupla) é muito melhor, mostrando a vida inteira de um menino que acabou se apaixonando por alguém do mesmo sexo. Ele é super bem filmado e basicamente, assim como a musica, tenta humanizar o pessoal que é discriminado pela sua opção sexual. No video o rapper aparece só durante a festa de casamento do casal bem brevemente, atuando só como trilha sonora no resto. Pra quem tiver afim de ver é só clicar acima e abaixo segue o top 25 da semana.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are ocuppying the first and the second place, and this week they also got the highlight. Same Love is another single from The Heist, the album Macklemore did and that was fully produced by Ryan Lewis. Both of the most successful singles from this album are pretty animated but this song is way calmer than the other two. Like the title of the song says, he is basically talking about love on this song, but not any love, more specifically homossexual love. Like all Macklemore songs it tries to pass a nice message for the world but it ends up being a bit corny and I really don't dig the song. The video is way better though and it's probably worth your while. The video shows a little boy that grows up and ends up loving somebody from the same sex as him. The video was very well done and Macklemore almost don't appear in it, except for a little cameo during the couple's wedding. Billboard Fridays: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us

Parece que o Macklemore não sairá tão cedo do topo da parada de rap da Billboard. Ele segue em primeiro lugar com Thrift Shop e é também o destaque da semana depois da escalada que Can't Hold Us, a música que ele fez com o seu produtor Ryan Lewis, teve essa semana. Enfim, como quase tudo que o Macklemore faz, essa é uma música "consciente" e tal, ou seja, não vais ouvir ele falando sobre armas, drogas, violência, sexo ou coisas do gênero. Ainda assim, junto com Thrift Shop, é o mais próximo que temos de um "party record" no seu album The Heist. Não é a minha música preferida nas paradas de rap americano, mas é legalzinha, melhor que Thrift Shop ao menos. A música não tem vídeo ainda, mas para ouví-la é só clicar acima. Update: Saiu o video desse som do Macklemore e o cara me surpreendeu. O video é bem divertido, com o Macklemore e a sua legião numa missão pra levar uma bandeira (que é basicamente a americana com The Heist, o album do cara, em vez das estrelas) ao topo da Space Needle de Seattle. Enfim, pra ver qual é é só clicar acima.

It seems that Macklemore ain't going away from the charts anytime soon. He is still at the top of it with Thrift Shop and is also highlighted this week with Can't Hold Us, another song he did with his producer Ryan Lewis. Just like everything Macklemore writes, it's kind of a conscient rap record, so you won't be hearing about drugs, guns, sex, violence or anything like that on it. Still, this is the closest of a party record he has on his album The Heist (Thrift Shop can be considered too). It's not my favorite song on the charts, but it's kind of a nice song, better than Thrift Shop anyway. It ain't got a video yet but you can hear it by clicking above. Billboard Thursdays: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - Thrift Shop

Mais uma semana e o sul-coreano PSY continua na liderança com a sua Gangnam Style. No entanto o destaque da semana fica pro Macklemore e o seu produtor Ryan Lewis. Juntos eles fizeram um projeto junto chamado The Heist, que é todo cheio de letras políticamente corretas e mensagens que os pais provavelmente gostariam que os filhos ouvissem. Enfim, não é bem o meu estilo, mas esse é o som mais divertidinho do album. A moral do som é que tu não deve se importar tanto com o que tu veste e que tu pode ter bastante estilo mesmo se tu comprar a tua roupa num brechó. Another week means another week with south korean artists PSY on the lead of Billboard's Hot Rap Charts. This week's highlight is another guy though. Macklemore and his producer Ryan Lewis just did an album together called The Heist and it is full of nice, positive messages that your father would probably enjoy that you hear it. Not quite my style, but still better than PSY anyway... This one's about how you shouldn't worry so much about new expensive clothes cause you can still be fly even if you buy your garments at a thrift shop. If you wanna check the video, click above.
