Billboard Fridays: Flo Rida feat. Sage The Gemini & Lookas - G.D.F.R.

Yeah people, Big Sean is still holding the top of Billboard's Hot Rap Charts with I Don't Fuck With you but this week's highlight goes to Flo Rida. He is the most formulaic hitmaker ever, and his formula is pretty simple. He gets a banger that already blew up and just put some lame ass vocals over it, while sharing the credits with the original producer of the track. The victim this time was Lookas and if that wasn't enough he also calls Sage The Gemini to handle the hook and the best verse of the song. He barely does anything on his own song... He is turning to some kind of lame DJ Khaled or something but fuck it. The video is pretty cliche too, with a Bugatti Veyron just standing on the background while he and Udonis Haslem (from the Miami Heat) train some hot girls that eventually win a match against a team of men. Sage The Gemini feat. August Alsina - Down On Your Luck

Billboard Fridays: Sage The Gemini - Red Nose

O clipe dessa musica no entanto é bem diferente do anterior. So, Jay Z continues to reign strong on the top of the Billboard charts with Holy Grail after dethroning Macklemore and just like last week, this week's highlight is Sage The Gemini, only this time it's with Red Nose. Both this song and Gas Pedal entered the Billboard charts almost at the same time. The two songs are on his Gas Pedal EP and they were produced by Sage The Gemini himself. This song sounds really hyphy, a rap genre that's very popular on the Bay Area and is almost taylor made for clubs. So yeah, it's definitelly a rap song for girls to dance too, and as you would expect it isn't very lyrical. Sage compensates this with a very cool flow and he can do very well with the beat he did. The video is what you would expect given his background. It's a very colorful video with lots of people partying, girls twerking and other such fun things. Overall I prefered Gas Pedal but it ain't bad either. You can check the video and this week's top 25 above.

Billboard Fridays: Sage The Gemini feat. IamSu - Gas Pedal

E fiiiiinalmente alguém desbanca o Macklemore e Ryan Lewis do topo. Enfim, a musica é divertida e o clipe me surpreendeu.

Finally someone took the top spot out of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' hands, and as I predicted, Jay Z was the one that made this feat with Holy Grail. Let's go to this week's highlight though. Sage The Gemini is a producer and a rapper from the Bay Area, which I had only previously heard of from some songs he did with IAMSU! After hearing the songs that he has charting right now I got a little hold on his sound and it's safe to say that his flow and way of rhyming is pretty close to IAMSU's, which is a great thing, cause Suzy knows what he is doing when it comes to rhyming. What you should expect is some clever party-rhyming delivered in everchanging flows, which is very entertaining. The beat was done by Sage The Gemini himself and is really minimalistic, kinda like what DJ Mustard started with his Ratchet movement. I found the song pretty fun and cool, but the video surprised me a little bit. I was expecting something with lots of bright colors, people doing some crazy dance moves and such, but what I actually saw was Sage, IAMSU and his female companions all dressed really soberly, kind of like models and such. It's definitelly a fresh look and I kinda digged the video. You can check it along with this week's top 25 above.
