The Birth of Captain Murphy

O Captain Murphy é um alter-ego (que se manteve em segredo por um bom tempo) do Flying Lotus como rapper. O cara já é um produtor inspiradasso, unico e super influente nessa nova geração, mas o trabalho como Captain Murphy segue um rumo diferente, usando bastante de distorção vocal mas sem abrir mão de letras psicodélicas e bem escritas e tal. Pois bem, esse alter-ego do Flying Lotus tem uma história misteriosa por trás dele, meio tipo o que o Gorillaz é pro Damon Albarn: na vida real é ele que escreve, produz e tal, mas tem toda uma narrativa por trás que explica a história do personagem. Pois bem, o Flying Lotus lançou agora com o Adult Swim um video que meio que tenta explicar a origem do Captain Murphy e eu achei bem foda. Pra ver, clique acima.

Assim como nos outros meses, segue abaixo os álbuns lançados nesse ultimo mês (ou que eu só ouvi nesse ultimo mês) que eu curti. Dezembro é um mês meio fraco pra musica nova, então não são muitos os álbuns  mas tem alguns bem bons. Captain Murphy - The Ritual

 O mistério sobre quem afinal é o tal Captain Murphy ainda continua, mas enquanto ele lançar musicas boas, foda-se, é isso que importa. Dessa vez ele pegou a batida de Dear Moleskine, produzida pelo Just Blaze, colocou aew  um outro e rimou em cima. O som é foda e pra ouví-lo é só clicar acima.

The mystery about who the fuck is Captain Murphy continues, but as long as he releases some dope songs, it doesn't really matter. This time he grabbed Just Blaze's Dear Moleskine beat, added an outro and rhymed over it. The song ended up dope and you can check it above.

Captain Murphy - Mighty Morphin Foreskin

Ontem mesmo eu já postei uma musica do Flying Lotus com participação do Earl Sweatshirt e esse tal Captain Murphy. Eu já duvidava antes, mas agora não me restam duvidas que, se o Tyler, the Creator não é o próprio Captain Murphy, então ele no minimo faz parte ou dá parte da voz ao personagem. Em conversa com o meu camarada Guy ele me falou que podia ser um projeto do Flying Lotus com o Tyler, tanto no que diz respeito ao audio da voz (que é bem manipulada e varia bastante, podendo ser duas ou mais vozes) quanto na produção (visto que os dois são eximios produtores). O que importa é que o som é foda e você pode ouvir mais um dele (ou deles) clicando no video psicodélico acima.

Just yesterday I posted a song of Flying Lotus that featured Earl Sweatshirt and this Captain Murphy. Then, I said I had my doubts if it wasn't just another name for Tyler, the Creator, cause they sounded quite alike, but now there's no doubt left for me. If Tyler isn't Captain Murphy himself, he is at least involved with the voice of the character. In a chat with my homie Guy he told me it could be a project between Flying Lotus and Tyler, in which they both might collaborate both in voice (because the Captain's voice is heavy manipulated and changes a lot on the song, so it's possible there are two or more voices there) and in production (since both of them excel as producers). What matters is that the song is dope as fuck and you might hear his (or their) song by clicking on the psychodelic video above.

Flying Lotus feat. Earl Sweatshirt & Captain Murphy - Between Friends

O Flying Lotus é um PUTA produtor, de um nivel tão alto a ponto de um cara como o Thom Yorke (vocalista do Radiohead) falar que ele é um dos caras mais inovadores de hoje em dia e tal. Enfim, o cara é foda, e outros moleques inovadores pra caralho são os do Odd Future, então é bem interessante a interação dos dois nesse single patrocinado pela Adult Swim (é, o mesmo do Frango Robo e outros desenhos de madrugada no Cartoon Network). A flow do Earl, a batida do FlyLo e o outro cara (que soa muito como o Tyler, the Creator) todos se complementam muito bem e fazem dessa altas musica. Clique abaixo pra ouvir.

Flying Lotus is a dope ass producer, of such a high level that he got compliments from Thom Yorke (the lead singer from Radiohead), saying that he is one of the most innovative artists in music nowadays. Well, some other innovative fellas that are doing some nice noise nowadays are the Odd Future crew, so the collabo between Earl and FlyLo on this Adult Swim sponsored single should be nice, and it is. Earl's flow and lyrics are impecable, FlyLo's beats are nice as always and even the other guy (which sounds a lot like Tyler, the Creator), all go together really well to form this great song.
