Billboard Fridays: PSY feat. Snoop Dogg - Hangover

Iggy Azalea is still on the lead with Fancy, but this week's highlights goes out to south korean rapper PSY, which goes straight to the third place with his new single, Hangover. When PSY first appeared on Billboard's Rap Charts I sustained that he isn't a rapper, but a j-pop singer, so he shouldn't be where he was, and I still think like that, but at least on this song Snoop Dogg does almost all of the verses and there's also a verse by korean rapper G-Dragon, so I guess you can consider this a fusion between EDM and rap. It doesn't mean that's a good rap song though. The song was produced by Yoo Gun Hyung, the guy that always produces PSY's music and it got that same vibe his songs always have, a crazy/bizarre video that turns viral and goes straight up the charts. It's not my thing, but you wanna check it just click up.

Billboard Fridays: PSY - Gentleman

This week Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are still on the first position with Thrift Shop, and even though I'm not really a fan of that song, this week's highlight is much much worse. With a lot of benefit from Billboard's new way of counting the top songs including YouTube streams (and also from the crazy guy that decided to classify this song as rap), PSY is back on the rap charts with a new single, that in it's first week went straight to the fifth place, which is a very high place. He is probably the one that will occupy the first place as soon as Macklemore goes away. The video for this new viral song is pretty much like Gangnam Style, with the same random stuff going on and bizarre dance routines. What changed is that this time PSY is sponsored by a Facebook game, Candy Crush Saga, and he is being a great asshole the whole video, doing a lot of stupid shit with lots of people thinking he is the bomb. The beat was also done by Yoo Gun-hyung, so you know it sounds a lot like Gangnam Style too, which is way closer to eletronic, pop or dance music than rap, but fuck it. All we can do is wait until the songs that enter the Billboard rap charts start getting better (hopefully beginning with Rocko's U.O.E.N.O. xD). You can check both the video and this week's top 25 clicking above.

Billboard Thursdays: PSY - Gangnam Style

It's simply ridiculous that 2 Chainz just got detroned from the Billboard's Hot Rap Chart by none other than south korean meme-rapper PSY, which blew up with a song that is a mix of K-Pop and EDM (beside the fact that he "rhymes" more than he sings on the song, I can't see no explanation for classifying it as rap music). The song ain't even in english and he was only on the 20th place last week. Well, the fact is that he is this week's leader and the highlight, since I hadn't post about this ridiculous song before. The song was produced by Yang Hyun-suk and the video... Well, depending on your sense of humour you might find it to be funny or amusing, but I simply find it ridiculous and wouldn't recomend you clicking above. What you might do is check this week's top 25 above.
