Depois de Tiimmy Turner o Desiigner ficou meio apagado e tal, e apesar de ele não ser o rapper mais quente ele tem uma energia legal pra cacete e eu curto a voz do cara. Pois bem, nesse som ele se juntou com o produtor Mura Masa e fez um som irado, com uma produção estilo as do Cashmere Cat e todo o carisma do Desiigner em cima. O vídeo é bem inspirado também, pra ver, clique acima.
É galera, o trio do Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa e Imagine Dragons foi desbancado pelo Drake, com Too Good, depois de ficar só uma semana na liderança. O destaque da semana no entanto vai pro Desiigner com o seu segundo hit, Tiimmy Turner. A história desse som é engraçada. Como vocês sabem por esse post, o Desiigner foi escolhido como um dos Freshmen da XXL do ano. Todos eles fizeram uns versos acapella promocionais por causa da capa e tal mas o que ficou meio viral foi o do Desiigner, que fugia bastante da fórmula de Panda e tal, tinha uma dinâmica bem massa e uma referência ao personagem personal do desenho Meus Padrinhos Mágicos. Vendo a reação do pessoal ele chamou o Mike Dean pra fazer uma batida irada pra ele e formulou uma música. Acabou que ficou meio diferente do vídeo original mas ficou uma bela música mesmo assim. Ela não tem vídeo oficial ainda mas vocês podem ouvir o som clicando acima.

The trio of Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and Imagine Dragons got dethroned from the top of the Billboard Hot Rap Chart and now Drake sits at the top of it again with Too Good. This week's highlight goes to Desiigner though. This song has a funny story. As you know from my earlier post, Desiigner was chosen as on of this year's XXL Freshmen. As a way to promote de magazine all the rappers on the cover did some small acapella freestyle videos for XXL, but the only one that went viral was Desiigner's. The dinamic of the freestyle was very different from Panda, he had more of a singing flow than before, but it all had a very cool dynamic and a reference the main character on The Fairly OddParents cartoon. Seeing the response from the freestyle, Desiigner called up Mike Dean to make a full song out of the freestyle and it blew up. The dynamic changed and it turned way more anthemic than before, but it's still a very cool song. It ain't got a video yet, but you can check the song above, and be sure I'll update the post with the video if it ever comes out, like I always do.
É galera, chegou aquela época do ano na qual a XXL lança a lista dos Freshmans dela. Apesar de nem todo mundo aceitar e querer entrar na lista (Drake, Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, A$AP Rocky e Tyler the Creator são só alguns exemplos) e de eles não levarem em consideração grupos que tem rappers quentes (como Rae Sremmurd e Migos) eles já acertaram com umas decisões meio óbvias (Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown, Action Bronson) e outras não tão óbvias pra época (Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y). Volta e meia eles também erram feio (Fred Da Godson, CyHi da Prynce, Donnis) mas essa lista é um balizador interessante do estado do que tem de mais novo no rap atualmente. Pra falar bem a real eu não achei tão ruim essa lista, mesmo ela tendo uns caras que eu nunca ouço e acho que não deveriam estar aí (21 Savage, Dave East) e outros que eu ouço mas que acho que não fizeram o suficiente pra estar na frente de outros possíveis Freshmen (Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black). Outra parada que eu sempre faço é ver quem estava "concorrendo" e ver a minha seleção de quem eu acho que mereceria os 10 primeiros lugares. A minha lista seria: Anderson .Paak, Little Simz, Towkio, Boogie, Bryson Tiller, Le1f, Peewee Longway, Mozzy, Nef the Pharaoh e G Herbo. O G-Eazy e Bebe Rexha continuam firmes e fortes na liderança mais uma semana mas o destaque mesmo da semana vai pro Desiigner. Pra quem não sabe ele é o mais novo rapper a assinar com G.O.O.D Music. Esse som dele foi usado como sample no som Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2 do Kanye West e o cara tem uma sonoridade que faz muita gente comparar ele ao Future e dá pra entender porque. Eu só ouvi esse som do cara mas nesse som o cara realmente usa uma vibe e flow parecidas com a do Future. O mais engraçado no entanto é que o som todo é praticamente um refrão sem fim. Por sorte ele é bem massa. A beat foi feita pelo Menace e também faz parte da magia que fez esse som ficar tão popular. Pra ouvir, clique acima. Update: Saiu o vídeo de Panda. Não é horrível mas também não é bom. O Desiigner não tem muito carisma, parece meio idiota metade do tempo e meio louco na outra metade. Percebe-se que era pra dar um feeling mas sei lá, eu não senti. Pelo menos tem uma aparição do Kanye West e da X6 que parece um Panda. Clique acima pra ver.

G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha are still sitting strong at the top of the Billboard Hot Rap Chart but this week's highlight goes to Desiigner. For those who ain't know, he is the latest rapper to sign to G.O.O.D Music. This song was sampled on Kanye's Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2 and because of Panda a lot of people are comparing his sound to Future's. This is the only song I've ever heard from him but you can see why people do that on the way he does his flow and the way he sounds. The funny thing about this song is that it barelly has any verse, basically being a hook being repeated all over the song for a long time. At least it's a good hook and the beat, done by Menace is one of the reasons for that. It ain't got a video yet but check the song above.
