Billboard Fridays: Desiigner - Tiimmy Turner

 É galera, o trio do Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa e Imagine Dragons foi desbancado pelo Drake, com Too Good, depois de ficar só uma semana na liderança. O destaque da semana no entanto vai pro Desiigner com o seu segundo hit, Tiimmy Turner. A história desse som é engraçada. Como vocês sabem por esse post, o Desiigner foi escolhido como um dos Freshmen da XXL do ano. Todos eles fizeram uns versos acapella promocionais por causa da capa e tal mas o que ficou meio viral foi o do Desiigner, que fugia bastante da fórmula de Panda e tal, tinha uma dinâmica bem massa e uma referência ao personagem personal do desenho Meus Padrinhos Mágicos. Vendo a reação do pessoal ele chamou o Mike Dean pra fazer uma batida irada pra ele e formulou uma música. Acabou que ficou meio diferente do vídeo original mas ficou uma bela música mesmo assim. Ela não tem vídeo oficial ainda mas vocês podem ouvir o som clicando acima.

The trio of Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and Imagine Dragons got dethroned from the top of the Billboard Hot Rap Chart and now Drake sits at the top of it again with Too Good. This week's highlight goes to Desiigner though. This song has a funny story. As you know from my earlier post, Desiigner was chosen as on of this year's XXL Freshmen. As a way to promote de magazine all the rappers on the cover did some small acapella freestyle videos for XXL, but the only one that went viral was Desiigner's. The dinamic of the freestyle was very different from Panda, he had more of a singing flow than before, but it all had a very cool dynamic and a reference the main character on The Fairly OddParents cartoon. Seeing the response from the freestyle, Desiigner called up Mike Dean to make a full song out of the freestyle and it blew up. The dynamic changed and it turned way more anthemic than before, but it's still a very cool song. It ain't got a video yet, but you can check the song above, and be sure I'll update the post with the video if it ever comes out, like I always do.
