Billboard Fridays: Big Sean feat. Lil Wayne & Jhene Aiko - Beware

Jay Z segue em primeiro lugar novamente essa semana com Holy Grail, mas o destaque da semana vai pro Big Sean, com Beware, cujo video eu tinha acabado de postar fora dessa coluna. Pois bem, esse é o single que ele tá promovendo junto com o lançamento de Hall Of Fame, o album que o Big Sean vai lançar no dia 27 desse mês. Essa música foi produzida pelo Key Wane, que já havia trabalhado com o Sean no seu ultimo single, Guap e a batida é bem parecida com as outras que eu ouvi desse produtor novo, melódica, meio pós-Boi-1da, meio que uma vertente do que o Drake fez e faz com o Boi-1da e o T-Minus. O tema da música também é bem pós Drake, com o Big Sean e o Lil Wayne falando a real de como é uma separação quando tu é um rapper, afinal eles se fodem como qualquer um nessa situação também. Apesar disso ela não é melosa, só é meio que a real sobre um assunto sobre o qual todo mundo passa e no qual ambos dão uns detalhes que fazem parecer bem fidedigna a história. A musica conta ainda com a participação da belissima Jhene Aiko, a qual eu ouvi pela primeira vez pois alguns dos rappers da TDE (Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q e etc) já usaram os seus belos vocais em musicas deles. E pra fechar com chave de ouro o clipe psicodélico foi produzido pela DONDA, agência criativa do Kanye West que entre outras coisas fez o video de Black Skinhead do Kanye e as capas dos ultimos albuns do Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Kanye West e A$AP Rocky. Jay Z keeps himself on the first place with Holy Grail, but this week's highlight goes to Beware, which I posted just a few days ago outside this column. This is the single Big Sean is promoting with the release of Hall Of Fame, his latest album that will be released next Tuesday, August 27th. The song was produced by Key Wane, which had worked before with Sean on his last single, Guap. The beat has Key Wane's signature in it, a kind of post-Boi-1da beat, kinda like what this producer and T-Minus did in the beginning of Drake's career, only with a twist to match Big Sean's style better. The whole themre of Sean and Wayne's verses are very post-Drake too, on the way they talk about how a rapper like them deals with separation, gets fucked up about it like any other person and such. They put the kind of detail on the lyrics that really sell well the idea and I found the verses quite cool. To end it all in a great mood we still have the lovely Jhene Aiko by the end of the song, which I first found out about on some songs she did with the guys from TDE (Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q...). The video for this song is pretty great too, with a very psycodelic theme to it, but it kinda matches the mood well. It was produced by DONDA, the creative agency created by Kanye West that, amongst other things, did his Black Skinhead video and the covers for Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Kanye West and A$AP Rocky's latest albuns, among others.
