Billboard Fridays: Young Jeezy feat. 2 Chainz - R.I.P.

Apesar da escalada extraordinária do Drake nas paradas direto pra segundo lugar, mais uma semana se passa e a liderança continua nas mãos do Macklemore e Ryan Lewis com Thrift Shop. O destaque da semana no entanto vai pro Young Jeezy com a volta dele às paradas de rap da Billboard. Desde Leave You Alone no começo do ano passado ele não aparece com um som novo aqui nas paradas, mas esse som novo dele com o 2 Chainz e produzido pelo DJ Mustard é muito bem vindo. Assim como praticamente todas as produções do DJ Mustard, ela tem aquela vibe bem minimalista do hyphy da Bay Area, mas acaba sendo o tipo de batida muito bom pras musicas de stripclub que dominam Atlanta e que o 2 Chainz e o próprio Jeezy sabem muito bem fazer. Essa música faz parte da mixtape It's Tha World, lançada pelo Jeezy no ano passado. Enfim, esse som ficou bem foda na minha opinião e apesar de não ter ainda video, pra ouvir a música é só clicar acima. Abaixo segue o top 25 da semana.
Update: Acabou de sair o video de R.I.P. e é aquele típico clipe de rap dos anos 2000. O Jeezy decidiu chamar os seus amigos famosos (no video eu encontrei o Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, YG, Snoop Lion, Nelly, Ludacris, T.I., Warren G, E-40 e o DJ Drama, pessoal achou mais alguém?), várias minas gostosas e fechar uma night. Nada muito inovador, mas combina com a música. Pra ver é só clicar acima

Even though Drake escalated it extraordinarily, this week's Hot Rap Chart is still on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's lead with Thrift Shop. This week's highlight goes to another rapper though, Young Jeezy, which is back at the charts. Since last year's Leave You Alone he didn't put a new song on Billboard's rap chart, but he is very welcomed with a song like this. It features 2 Chainz and was produced by DJ Mustard and, as most of Mustard's beats, it has that minimalistic hyphy Bay Area vibe we're used to hearing from him. It matches the new wave of artists from the Bay Area very well, but Jeezy and Chainz have proved that it works as well with Atlanta's stripclub anthems. This song is part of Jeezy's It's Tha World mixtape and even though it ain't got a video yet, you can check it above, along with this week's top 25.
