Billboard Fridays: Drake - 0 to 100/The Catch Up

O primeiro dessa semana continua mais uma semana com a Iggy Azalea mas o destaque da semana vai pro campeão do ranking que eu faço dos artistas de rap da Billboard do Ano no ano passado. É isso ai, o Drake tá de volta às paradas e já  era tempo. Esse é um dos sons avulsos que ele lançou esse ano, provavelmente alguma musica que não entrou no seu ultimo album, o Nothing Was The Same, apesar de ser possivel que seja algum som feito nas sessões pro seu próximo album. É bem comum ele fazer isso entre albuns, Trophies inclusive, que está nas paradas creditada como uma musica da Young Money com só o Drake cantando, é um caso desses. Essa música foi produzida pelo Noah "40" Shebib, o Boi-1da e o Nineteen85, todos produtores da gravadora do Drake, a OVO Sound, e o som é bem típico do Drake. Ela é dividida em duas musicas, tipo Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2, a primeira metade sendo uma parada mais de rap mesmo produzida pelo Boi-1da pro Drake mandar umas rimas fortes. A segunda metade é mais no estilo do 40, uma batida bem mais calma e etérea que conta até com uma participaçãozinha do James Blake. Enfim, é um som bem massa, pena que não tem video ainda. Another week Iggy Azalea stays on top with Fancy, but this week's highlight goes to the artist that stayed two years on top of the Billboard Artist Rank I do yearly. Yeah, Drake is back on the charts and he's right on time! This is probably one of the songs that didn't ended up on Nothing Was The Same, even though it could be a product of the sessions for his next album. It's really usual for him to do that in between albuns, Trophies, that's also on the charts credited as a Young Money song, was released in the same way. The song was produced by Noah "40" Shebib, Boi-1da and Nineteen85, all of them producers from Drake's OVO Sound label, and they keep the song very much the way you would expect a Drake song to be. It's divided on two parts, like Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2, the first half being produced by Boi-1da, being more of a strong rap beat for Drake to black out on. The second part is the usual 40 production, with a way more calm and ethereal beat for Drake to do his rhyme/singing over. It even got a very cool James Blake feature by the end of the song.
