Billboard Fridays: Eminem - Berzerk

Tá aí algo que eu não vi desde quando eu comecei a coluna da Billboard no novo blog, alguém ser destaque da semana e primeiro lugar ao mesmo tempo, tudo isso enquanto aparece pela primeira vez nas paradas. Apesar disso, se tem alguém que tem potencial pra já chegar nas paradas de rap com um primeiro lugar esse cara é o Eminem. Pois bem, esse som foi lançado num comercial pro Beats by Dr. Dre durante o VMA e todo mundo ficou de cara com o som. Depois a gente ficou sabendo que o produtor do som era o Rick Rubin e a produção soa muito a cara dele, com aquela influência de rock das antigas que ele passou pro som de vários rappers do começo da Def Jam, mas principalmente pros Beastie Boys. Pois bem, o Eminem decidiu fazer desse som uma mistura do lado mais rapper dele, com flows complicadas de se fazer e variando entre elas, e do lado mais divertido dele. Pra mim eu achei uma evolução fudida ele sair daquela vibe de quase emo dos singles do ultimo album dele, como Not Afraid, No Love e Love The Way You Lie. É isso ai, ainda não tem video mas vocês podem ouvi-la acima.
Update: Acabou de sair o video oficial e ele é bem divertido. Tem o Eminem (que parece meio bizarro, maquiado demais ou com muita plastica, sei lá) meio que trazendo de volta um pouco daqueles videos engraçados que ele fazia nos anos 2000. No video o Rick Rubin aparece toda a hora mas também temos aparições dos membros do Slaughterhouse, do Alchemist e uma engraçada pacax do Kendrick Lamar. Pra ver é só clicar acima.

Here's something I hadn't seen since I first posted the Billboard column on the new version of my blog: a single reaching the first spot and being the week's highlight at the same time and in the first week it appears on the charts. If there's anyone with the potential to do something like this though it's Eminem, the best selling rapper ever. This song was released on a Beats by Dr. Dre commercial that aired during this year's VMA and everyone got stoked. Afterwise we learned that the song was produced by Rick Rubin, which makes a lot of sense cause it sounds like the classic Rick Rubin production, with the same guitars and vinyl breaks that he first used when he founded Def Jam, in lots of acts but mostly on songs with the Beastie Boys. Eminem did his thing too, choosing to do two stuff I'm very glad to see him doing. The first is doing those intrincate flows, switching from one to the other and all. The second one is that he got funny like he used to on his first videos, which is always something. The song ain't got a video yet but you can check it clicking above. Enjoy!
