Billboard Fridays: YG feat. Jeezy & Rich Homie Quan - My Hitta

Vamos a ela então.

And just like last time, Eminem gave his top spot back to Jay Z after the first week and now we got Jigga, again with Holy Grail, on Billboard Rap Songs' top spot. This week though we got a guy that's been rounding Billboard's top spots but ain't got a shine on this column yet. I'm talking about YG. For those who ain't know, he is a rapper from California that rose to proeminency in 2009 with his single Toot It And Boot It. After that he disappeared for a while, but he was always working with DJ Mustard, which last year ended up producing Rack City, which was a major hit in it's own right and now that this is the style of music that's on the forefront of rap right now, YG decided to ride the wave. This year he was also signed to Young Jeezy's CTE, which I imagine helped a bit. This song appeared on a couple of mixtapes released by Jeezy's posse, the first being #ItsThaWorld and the second is Boss Yo Life Up Gang. Let's go to it then. The beat was done by DJ Mustard and another guy that blew up this year is in it too. The guy is Rich Homie Quan, which handles the hook in a great way. Overall all the 3 guys lend a great vibe to the song, which is one of this year's summer hits in the making. The video is pretty dope too, kinda cliche, but nice regardless. Click above to check both along with this week's top 25.
