Billboard Fridays: Nicki Minaj feat. Lil Wayne - High School

Ah, além disso esse som faz parte do The Re-Up, relançamento do Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded com algumas musicas extras. O top 25 da semana segue abaixo.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's kinda redundant to keep saying this since they've been in this position for almost the whole year, but yeah, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are still on the top spot on Billboard's Hot Rap Charts. Let's go to this week's highlight then. It is Nicki Minaj's latest single, which was produced by Boi-1da and T-Minus, two canadian producers that are associated with Drake and got many hits on their curriculum. Even though what I just said it's true, I don't think they were particularly inspired for this song, but they probably did the beat this way on Nicki's request. On my view, Nicki is the kind of artist that can blend really well two sides of her crafts. The first one is more of a bubblegum-singing-pop side, while the other is a much more minimalistic, kinda violent real rap shit. On the albuns she did you can always check this two sides, like she did with Starships on one side and Come On A Cone on the other side on her latest. Sometimes she can even do both things seamlessly (like on The Boys) and that's what I think she was trying to do on this song. Well, in my view at least, she wasn't really successful, with this song hanging more on her poppier side, which ain't my favorite side of her. The song also has Weezy, which don't really shine but don't ruin the song also, he kinda just cruises through it. The video is like most of the videos Cash Money is doing lately, with a cliche story and stuff. This time Lil Wayne comes through on his Ferrari FF along with Birdman to have a meeting with a hispanic crime lord. There he sees how his lady (which is Nicki) is hot as fuck and proceeds to seduce her. Together they rob the crime lord, go away on a helicopter and get happily ever after. Yeah, kinda cliche but it's still definitelly worth a click, if anything for seeing a lot of Nicki's body, which she insists to show. Also, this song is part of The Re-Up, the re-release of her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. Check both the video and this week's top 25 above.
